How do I turn on Dark Mode for Visual Studio?

These steps apply to the Visual Studio IDE, not Visual Studio Code.

Visual Studio 2022

1. Open Tools > Options.
2. Expand Environment > General. In newer builds, use All Settings > Environment > Visual Experience.
3. Set Color theme to Dark. Choose Use system setting if you want Visual Studio to follow Windows.
4. Select OK.

Visual Studio remembers the selected theme. Downloaded Marketplace themes may require restarting Visual Studio before they appear under Tools > Theme.
