Tip: This feature is only available on Android devices version Q or later. You can choose between dark, light, or your device’s default theme:

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app Gmail. At the top left, tap Menu Menu . Tap Settings and then General settings. Tap Theme. Choose Light, Dark, or System default.
